Montessori Method
Montessori is a method of education that is based on self-directed activity, hands-on learning and collaborative play. In Montessori classrooms children make creative choices in their learning, while the classroom and the highly trained teacher offer age-appropriate activities to guide the process. Children work in groups and individually to discover and explore knowledge of the world and to develop their maximum potential.
Every material in a Montessori classroom supports an aspect of child development, creating a match between the child’s natural interests and the available activities. Children can learn through their own experience and at their own pace. They can respond at any moment to the natural curiosities that exist in all humans and build a solid foundation for life-long learning.

Student Orientation
The first days of the new school year are devoted to students who are new to the school environment. Orientation is an important component of your child’s success in class. Children are expected to be fully involved in this important activity.
Parents Information Night
Every new year, the school will hold a meeting with parents. This activity is for parents only (without children), to explain school plans, policies, procedures and classrooms. Parents have the opportunity to get acquainted, meet with all class staff, and learn about their child’s classroom. Teachers and teaching assistants will answer questions about field trips, classroom procedures, and volunteer opportunities.
Student conference
Parent-teacher conferences are scheduled per semester. Teachers and principals are always available to answer any questions and information needed. Parents can contact their respective class teachers to schedule a meeting. The teacher will regularly communicate via personal telephone throughout the school year if there are special needs regarding child development.
Parents of students with special needs can request written diaries from the teacher, including information about food intake, physical development, and changes in daily attitudes.
Field trip
Notification regarding Field Trip will be given to parents at least one week before the activity. If the parents want to accompany the child during the activity, the parents are responsible for the arrangement.
For student safety and protection, teachers can ask parents for help or cancel children’s involvement in field trips if the teacher is concerned about the child’s safety based on the child’s observed behavior, development and / or maturity of the child.
Birthday
The Birthday Walk Around the Sun.
In the Early Years class, each child’s birthday is celebrated in a Montessori tradition called “The Birthday Walk.” Parents are expected to attend and play an important role in providing photos of the child’s growth every year from birth. Photographs For elementary students, birthday celebrations are held differently and will be explained by the respective class teachers. Children whose birthdays coincide with school holidays can choose a date before or after the holidays to celebrate their birthday.
